listen

I've worked professionally in marketing research for nearly 20 years.  I'm trained to ask questions and to listen.  That means, I will do a lot less talking and a lot more working to understand what residents want for our city.

I believe the days of government leaders running virtually unchecked are gone.  Having worked in healthcare market research, I've witnessed this same change in the patient-doctor relationship. Today, patients tend to question their healthcare providers, they bring in print-outs from web sites, they self-advocate.  Council and residents should be collaborating in the same way.

I believe informed residents know what's best for our own city--a radical idea in some circles-- residents' interests first!
